Gay teenager Michael Causer was beaten to death as he slept 10 years ago. But his parents Marie and Mike are ensuring his name lives on by running a charity to help vulnerable LGBT+ youngsters


I t’s been a decade since Michael Causer was brutally beaten as he slept at a house party in Liverpool. Punched, kicked and battered with a hardback book till its spine broke, the 18-year-old trainee hairdresser suffered massive head injuries as well as multiple facial fractures.

Michael, who weighed just 7½st, was found dumped in the street and was rushed to hospital, where he had surgery to the brain, but he died a few days later, on 2 August 2008.
