Edgar Wright’s time-travelling horrorcomedy about a present-day fashion student (McKenzie) trying to solve the mystery of the seemingly grisly fate of a 60s starlet (Taylor-Joy) in Swinging London should be perfect Halloween fare — but it falls flat. Neither scary nor funny enough, it never really pulls you into either of its worlds, and despite its (inexplicable) 18 certificate, there’s a juvenile air to the whole romp. Out now
