SMELLS LIKE GAY PRIDE BY IAN GILES, PHOTO BY JAY STEWART
Pride season may be over, but you can celebrate being LGBTQ+ all year round with artist Ian Giles’s limited-edition Smells Like Gay Pride scented candle. Costing £25, it was inspired by conversations with members of the Gay Liberation Front who took part in the very first Pride march 50 years ago. Complete with a label featuring a photograph of campaigners at the base of Nelson’s Column on 1 July 1972, the candle playfully evokes the atmosphere of that day, with fragrance notes including tobacco, weed, patchouli and exhaust fumes.
