This dreamy home in south west Cornwall is the result of the hard work and grit of self builders Steve Burt and Tina Hill. With a build cost of around £220,000, the couple has created an outstanding property that’s energy efficient and perfect for a contemporary lifestyle in the country.
The pair had been looking for land to develop in the area, and as luck would have it an opportunity soon arose. “We tried to buy another plot but our offer was declined,” says Tina. “But then the same estate agent told us about this one, which we jumped at! It actually turned out to be a better location for us anyway; everything happens for a reason.” Tina and Steve secured the plot in March 2018 and set about generally clearing it in preparation for construction.
