The owners of this townhouse commissioned Selencky Parsons to build into the roof space of their home to accommodate an additional bedroom and extend and remodel the ground floor to create an open-plan kitchen/living/ dining space, complete with WC and utility room. The brick on the seamless new addition is closely matched to the original building in a way that highlights the individual structures while still creating a cohesive whole. In contrast, clay tiles clad the loft extension to form a distinct volume without making it appear as though it doesn’t belong in the overall build.
