A 17-YEAR-OLD who crashed three days after passing his driving test has been fined £130 and had his licence endorsed with three penalty points by Campbeltown’s Justice of the Peace (JP) court.
Aarran Lyon, of Tigh Na Struain, Clachan, who had no previous convictions, pleaded guilty to a charge of driving without due care and attention on the A83 near Tarbert, on July 21, after he lost control of the vehicle he was driving, colliding with the opposite carriageway verge and causing extensive damage to the vehicle.
Speaking in his defence, solicitor Stephen MacSporran said that Lyon may have taken the corner too quickly, but not outwith the legal speed limit, telephoning the police himself to inform them of the incident.
