SELLING cream buns and flowering plants gave Clachan hall fundraisers the scent of success when they raised £604.82.
Trustees for the hall rebuilding scheme have so far raised £18,000 and are about a third of the way to the target they think will be needed to attract major funders.
Last Saturday the hall was packed as customers for a plant and bake sale bought the many plants on show including tomato and celery, scoffed cream buns, made with yeast donated by Argyll Bakeries, had a go on the bottle tombola and bought greetings cards and garden ephemera from Julia Love-Griffiths.
