IN DECEMBER the Wee Toon’s Christmas lights failed to shine in a switch-on debacle.
Approaching February, it has started to look like the illuminations might be strung across the streets for far longer than the traditional 12 days which officially ended on January 6. Councillor Donald Kelly wrote to development and infrastructure services head, Pippa Milne, and said: ‘Can you please tell me when Campbeltown Xmas Lights will be switched off and taken down or are they being left up for Xmas 2017?’
A council spokesman replied: ‘We will take down the lights across Argyll and Bute over a period of weeks, finishing by the end of February.’
