The Dutch team at Cult Models is clearly made up of British car fans, as its recent releases confirm. Following its sold-out range of 1:18 Minis, Cult has been focused on Triumphs and Jaguars, but its latest Austin-Healey Sprite MkII is guaranteed to be another sales success – just as Dinky and Spot-On discovered with diecast toys in period. Available in four colour options comprising red, green, Old English White and light blue, the 1:18 resin casting with photo-etched details superbly captures the MkII Sprite’s charm, complete with steel wheels. Legend has it the styling of the Frogeye’s successor was split, with Healey at Warwick creating the front while MG’s design department at Abingdon sorted the rear, but it has taken a Dutch firm to create the first 1:18 miniature.
