DIPPED IN GOLD
Dean Honer’s what late comedian Bill Hicks would have called a “weaver”, a man who unites conflicting forces. Key to Sheffield’s currently vibrant (yet again!) scene – not least International Teachers Of Pop – the hirsute, Essex-born studio wiz also enjoyed 1990s success with All Seeing I. Now, for the wittily named Another New Thing, he hooks up with two more (their words, not ours) “bleary old scrotes”.
He first met Preston’s likeminded synth aficionado Paul Nagle and Pennsylvanian novelist/musician Don Himlin at a 2015 event organised by Ann Shenton of Add N To (X) – with whom Honer also played a role – and lockdown provoked them to make good on their promise of cooperation.
