Considering 1997’s original Sci-Fi Lullabies is held up as one of the greatest B-sides compilations, it’s bizarre it’s taken 28 years to assemble Suede’s subsequent flips. Sure, the quality dipped a little around A New Morning, but even then the minimal atmospherics of Simon showed Suede were at least trying to explore B-sides’ possibilities. Another fine LP in its own right, with the added bonus of The Blue Hour outtake, histrionic ballad Blinded, Sci-Fi Lullabies Vol.2 is a textbook example of why B-sides were so important.
