GETTY x2
MUCH LOVED SINGER-songwriter Judy Dyble, aged 71, has lost a battle with lung cancer. She was a pillar of the English folk rock scene during the 60s, most notably as a founding member of Fairport Convention, and also a vocalist with the cult duo Trader Horne alongside with Jackie McAuley. Dyble’s short tenure with the band Giles, Giles And Fripp, with whom she sang on the track I Talk To The Wind, served as a valuable precursor to King Crimson. Her original tenure with Fairport Convention was short. Following their self-titled debut in 1968, she was “unceremoniously dumped” (her words) and replaced by Sandy Denny.
