ELEANOR MARGOLIS
I’m walking down London’s Strand on my way to catch the tail end of the anti-Trump protest in Trafalgar Square, when my eye is caught by possibly the biggest Pride-related window display I’ve ever seen. Private bank, Coutts, has decked out all five storeys of its glass-fronted HQ with a rainbow decal and the words “Bank with Pride”. Setting aside for a moment the entire debate about the corporate takeover of Pride, if I had to pick one thing from my day-to-day life that least makes me think of – let alone take pride in – my sexuality, banking would probably be it.
