Looking for a way to give back to the LGBTIQ community, Troye was instrumental in putting together the first Go West Fest. The live music show kicked off the LA Pride Festival and featured himself, Charli XCX and a line-up of mostly LGBTIQ-aligned performers.
The festival is named after the classic Village People song (made even more famous by the Pet Shop Boys’ cover) about finding a peaceful, Utopian new world, free of discrimination.
Fabulously, Troye is touring Australia throughout September with $1 from every ticket sold going to support Beyond Blue and Minus 18, “organisations who were there for me when I needed them,” says Troye. “I’m honoured to be able to help support them by wiggling around on stage.”
