Throughout his many thwarted attempts to gain dominion over the Earth, the Time Lords and the cosmos – and his equally unsuccessful attempts to kill the Doctor – the Master has adopted numerous cunning disguises. Over the years he’s posed as a colonel, an adjudicator, a country vicar, a naval officer, two scientists and a couple of telephone engineers. But his most effective feints have been those occasions when even the viewers at home were fooled until he whipped off his mask.
