Driven Women Magazine Issue Four Back Issue

English

For too long women have been relegated to the passenger seat in the automotive world and for some of us this has been irritating; so we have done something about it and taken the steering wheel for ourselves, both figuratively and literally.

Hanan founded the Arabian Gazelles, Dubai’s first all-female supercar club, and it now boasts more than 70 members worldwide. I got to live the Ferrari dream with the family-friendly GTC4Lusso, Jules drives the Lamborghini Urus in picturesque Upstate New York, Beth shares with us her extraordinary electric vehicle lifestyle and Lisa gives us a real world view of what it is like to own a supercar, well actually two of them.

We hear the inspirational story of how Kentucky tennis star Laura Schwab became the President of Aston Martin The Americas and meet four women who are leading the way for other women who want to pursue a career in STEM related fields in the automotive sector. While Chanterria is shaping future female leaders with the help of her Ferrari named Cocoa.

The trucking industry is not somewhere you will expect to find a woman, but that didn’t stop Heather Jones forging a career for herself as a truck driver after going through a divorce. In similar circumstances Georgina McEncroe founded the all-female driver ride share company Shebah and is now seeing the fruits of her labour.

In the world of motorsport the W Series has generated controversy and we look at both sides of the argument for why it is or is not a good thing for the future of female racing drivers. For some added tyre smoke we take a ride along with UK drifter Kirsty Widdrington.

Finally, like The Beatles at the end of The Yellow Submarine movie, we play you out with a song and look at the link between road trips and music.

We hope you enjoy the Supercars and Super Women issue!
