It’s so easy to take things for granted isn’t it? The chance to meet up with friends, to see family, to go on trips, to be busy ‘getting on with our lives’, and to think that – nevermind – ‘I’ll call tomorrow’...
Yet one thing that the past few weeks will have reminded all of us is that time marches on, family bonds are precious and likely none of us will regret putting family to the top of our to do list. For me, it’s at times like this when family and family history (always cosy cousins) merge into one long continuum.
This issue we’re remembering the lives and bittersweet celebrations of our ancestors of 75 years ago, when finally the long years of World War 2 were coming to an end. And, thinking of memories closer in time, we have also compiled a guide for you, to help you record your own memories and those of your loved ones today. Not only do we hope it’ll provide an enjoyable way to spend time at home, but that it’ll also be time well spent, providing new treasures for your family history home archive to be passed on into the future. Take care everyone.
