Michael Mosley wrote for this magazine for over a decade. For some of that time, I was his commissioning editor and I was always happy to see a message from him. It meant I was about to learn about something new.
Michael’s columns were a masterclass. Whether he wanted to tell you about vampire facelifts or why he liked to stand on one foot in the morning, Michael knew how to get your attention. And he could explain science with effortless clarity. He also had that rare gift of being able to tap in to what people were talking about. More often than not, he’d be the one that got the national conversation going, covering the microbiome, cold-water plunges and fasting years before they became global trends.
