As an award-winning actress and mum to a young son, Sheridan Smith is looking forward to the day her little boy can enjoy her work on screen.
But at only 19 months old, Billy will have to wait a little longer to enjoy her latest role – the wicked witch from Hansel and Gretel.
“I haven’t shown my son me as the witch, I think he’d be too scared,” says the 40-year-old star with a laugh. “Even I was shocked –I forgot I was in full costume and made myself jump in the bathroom mirror.
“They put latex over my face and squeezed it to bring out all these wrinkles. It’s not very flattering. I sent my mates pictures and they said they couldn’t even recognise me.”
