RICHARD OSMAN
He found success as a TV producer and game-show host before becoming a blockbuster novelist – and now his first book is headed for the big screen
Until recently, Richard Osman was best known for producing, then presenting, hit TV shows such as Pointless and House of Games, but since publishing his debut novel in 2020, he has quickly become the bestselling author of the decade.
His Thursday Murder Club series has become a publishing phenomenon: the four novels, which follow a quartet of residents in a Kent retirement village as they solve murders, have sold ten million copies around the world.
The first book is now being made into a film by Steven Spielberg, directed by top Hollywood director Chris Columbus and with a star-studded cast including Dame Helen Mirren, Pierce Brosnan, Sir Ben Kingsley, Celia Imrie and David Tennant.
