The Royal Horticultural Society (RHS) gave the name Catherine’s Rose to the flower, to raise awareness of the role that time outdoors plays in supporting mental, physical and spiritual wellbeing.
All proceeds from sales of the rose, which has “coral-pink blooms with a scent of Turkish delight and mango”, will go to the Royal Marsden Cancer Charity. Clare Matterson, director-general of the RHS, said: “The rose will also raise awareness of how nature and gardening can help heal.”
