When did multi-step mani care get so hot? Follow our expert guide to making it a crucial part of your routine
Missoni
Handcare has always been a staple of our routines – a hand cream is a timeless stocking-filler and a deskside essential for a reason. But 15-step routines are racking up millions of likes on social media, while luxury washes and high-end creams are now status symbols.
Take, for example, Rare Beauty Find Comfort Hydrating Hand Cream (below left, £18, from sephora.co.uk), the new pastel-pretty Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Hand Creams (bottom, £52, visit guerlain.com), Chanel La Crème Main (below right, £54, visit chanel.com) – and, in a sure sign that handcare is now decidedly upmarket, Victoria Beckham hand cream (£38, from selfridges.com). Beauty behemoth Sephora reports a 51% increase in searches for handcare over the past year, with Glossier and Chanel’s hand creams claiming top spot as brands seek to create chic beauty rituals from something we used to do on autopilot.
