Then, the publishing company I worked for created a new farming magazine called Urban Farm, of which I would one day become the editor. It opened my heart to a new way of living and farming, no matter where you live. Suddenly, I was growing all around my small Socal backyard: beets, tomatoes, cucumbers, potatoes and even a special kind of corn created to grow on a back patio! Food was again a highlight of my life.
