In Building and Using your Clay Oven Mike Rutland shows how to make the ultimate architectural garden accessory - a clay oven.Home-made bread, freshly baked and still warm to serve at the BBQ, pizzas served at the kids' parties, or even a slow-roasted joint of lamb - all are possible with Mike's step-by-step instructions on building and using your very own clay oven.

In addition to all the more obvious benefits of owning a clay oven, the contents also include the choice of materials available, preparing the site for work, making the base, building and maintaining the oven, a section on troubleshooting, and many recipes, including breads, pizzas and roasted meats, as well as instructions on dismantling and recycling the oven at the end of its life.

When not feeding and tending to his livestock, growing his own food or building clay ovens, Mike is an architectural technician by trade, and uses his particular skills and knowledge to great effect with this particular project. Both he and his wife have contributed regularly to Home Farmer and live together with their two children on a farm in Wales.
