Welcome to my home
A bit about me
I am Lynsay Neil, also known by my blogger name, Miss West End Girl (misswestendgirl. com) and I live here with my partner, Gary Scott, also a blogger (troublewithfilm.com).
Where i live
My house is a two-bedroom Victorian flat in Glasgow’s Southside.
What i wanted to change
The flat was totally white which was a bit too clinical – it was begging for colour!
How I made it my own
We have painted and papered key areas and built fitted cupboards to store our considerable record, film and book collections.
My favourite part
Due to the light and calm scheme, the living room is an inspirational space where everything happens – I write, record my podcasts, blog and socialise.
Good Idea
Choose wooden blinds for windows instead of curtains for an airy and uncluttered feel
The 1950s-style charcoal sofa from DFS allows Lynsay to have fun with colourful scatter cushions, such as the Custard Cream design by Nikki McWilliams and the two bright pink flamingo cushions found at Primark
Living room
‘We love second-hand furniture and vintage finds, but we thought we would invest in new, goodquality pieces that we would have for years to come,’ Lynsay explains. The charcoal grey 1950s-style sofa with atomic legs is one such purchase, and it’s formed the foundation for her bright and playful style throughout the space.
