I squeezed an en-suite into our bedroom!
With a keen eye for industrial interiors and a hankering for a swish en-suite, Vanessa De Angelis fused the two for a super-sleek suite in dusky shades of grey

A bit about me
Hi, I’m Vanessa De Angelis. I live with my husband, Chris, and our children, Oriana, 8, and Marcus, 6, in a four-bedroom 1960s house in West Sussex.
My problem bathroom
When we first moved in, in December 2013, we only had one bathroom, but ideally we needed two. I was desperate for an en-suite, so got to work making plans for a slick shower room to be added to our master bedroom, as we were lucky enough to have a lot of space.
How I made it work
Fortunately, even with the addition of an en-suite, the master was still a very generous size – and we didn’t have to compromise on light as we retained one of the windows. After much toing and froing, I settled on a theme. I went for shades of grey, ensuring everything that’s fixed is a tone of grey, from the window, through to the floor, walls, tiles and furniture, while all of the accessories are totally interchangeable.
