For indeed it was the Amalgamated Press that had seemingly cornered the star-studded market in very cheap and very cheerful papers for children of all ages. The inaugural Film Fun Annual had been published for the Christmas of 1937. The book’s huge popularity galvanized plans to release a sister paper dedicated to the thrills and laughter of the airwaves.
