WELCOME TO ITALIA!

Benvenuti…

A very warm welcome to the first issue of Italia! to hit the shelves in 2021. It’s true to say 2020 was quite a year and we couldn’t have got through it without you. However, this is neither the time nor the place for retrospective analysis: let’s turn the page and choose to look to the future, celebrating the opportunities it will bring, for travel, for friendship, for lives well-lived.

With this very much in mind, we’re delighted to bring you our carefully curated mix of inspiring features and photography to transport you to the country we all love. Where else could we begin these armchair travels but our beloved Rome? See an uncrowded Eternal City through the eyes of one Australian family who visited over the summer. On to Umbria, and the hilltop town dedicated to St Francis of Assisi – there is so much to discover in this very special place. Beautiful Brescia, so close to Milan and Lake Garda, is often overlooked but there is a wealth of heritage here, so add it to your list!
