Knit Now  |  Knit Now 111
Kate is being a little selfish this issue and indulging her love of colourwork! We’re covering lots of techniques, from stranded knitting and intarsia to simple double knitting but if you’re a little nervous to try a new technique, don’t worry. We’re here to help, with step-by-step guides and top tips from our designers. Long-time Knit Now readers will know that stranded knitting is Kate’s favourite technique in the whole world, so this month she’s giving you all of her top tips to help you fall in love with Fair Isle too (page 49).
For those of you who prefer a simpler, textured knit there are also plenty of options to play with. We love Crystal Hiatt’s Harmony Scarf (page 32) which uses a simple knit and purl texture to wonderful effect. To add colour to your knits in a simple way, why not knit the Rainbow Cardigan (page 83) for your little ones.
If you’re still not sure what to knit first, we’ve got plenty for you to read while you’re thinking about it. You can meet our new Deputy Editor Jayne (page 98) and find out why she loves to knit. We chatted to up-and-coming Rowan designer Annika Wolke (page 87) this month – she’s such a fantastic talent, I’ve seen a sneak peek of some of her designs for summer and I can’t wait to show you all. Don’t forget to enter our bumper winter giveaway (page 72) – there are some fab prizes up for grabs!
