A talented stand-off who became a classy ball-playing loose forward, Johnny Wolford’s time in professional Rugby League lasted for 23 years. Having debuted in 1962 at the age of 16, he played for Bramley for most of his career before enjoying spells at Bradford Northern, Dewsbury and Hunslet. He was still turning out for the latter aged 40 in the 1985-86 season.
