FORMER Rugby Football League chief executive Ralph Rimmer is one of two independent advisers appointed by the Government to support rugby union chiefs as they attempt to safeguard the future of the 15-a-side professional game.
Rimmer, 57, who left the RFL at the end of last year after four years of leading the governing body and more than twelve years' service to it in total, will work alongside UK Sport's Chris Pilling.
