Z is for storage
I’ve just put on Mint 21 with ZFS as root ending with a bpool and an rpool on a 1TB disk. Now what? I’m struggling with concepts of filesystems and partitions, how to back up everything, whether I can or should have home on a separate partition/special area, and so on. Any chance of articles in this area?

Neil says… As soon as you start abstracting things away from the actual hardware it can suddenly become difficult to work out just what’s going on, especially when terms like ‘pools and volumes are logical’ are thrown around like you should understand what they apply to.
Jonni took an in-depth look into some of this for LXF252’s Storage Perfection feature, but you’re right – it’s likely a good time to cover it all again!
