COLOUR RAIL
Locomotive: NBR Class J/LNER Class D29 & D30 4‐4‐0s
Gauge: ‘00’
Proposed by: Eddie Manners
What is it?
The North British Railway built a wide range of new 4‐4‐0 locomotives during the early years of the 20th Century, with designs tailored for mixed traffic and passenger duties. One of the express passenger variants was the Class J (later ‘D29’), designed by William Reid, which carried names inspired by the novels of Sir Walter Scott, such as Rob Roy and Ivanhoe.
