THE fight is on to convince Argyll and Bute Council to spare its road safety unit from closure.
The council is faced with some tough decisions in coming weeks as it balances the books for the coming financial year’s budget. All council services, including front line ones, are under pressure.
The road safety unit, with its budget of the work equivalent of 1.7 officers, is one of the cuts being suggested to lessen the impact elsewhere.
