Argyll MP Brendan O’Hara visited Home- Start Lorn on Friday to see its work. Mr O’Hara met staff and service users at the scheme’s Lochside Street base. Home-Start Lorn has been helping families with young children throughout the Oban and North Argyll area, including the outlying villages, since 1988 and on the Isle of Mull since 2016. Its 24 volunteers support 15 families.
A project to install safety barriers to improve road safety along the A85 between Dunbeg and Connel started this week.
The £250,000 project will see almost two kilometres of safety barriers installed or upgraded along sections of the route from the Halfway House filling station to the start of the 30mph speed limit at the western end of Connel.
