Sir,
The Business News article on Clearwing Ecology (‘Mother and daughter ecology business on right path to grow’, The Oban Times, May 12) implied that, prior to their survey of the Isle of Muck, only four moth species had been recorded there.
In the interests of accuracy, I would like to point out that Dr R M Dobson, of the University of Glasgow, surveyed the moths and butterflies of the Muck islands in the course of 33 visits between 1977 and 1988, and added 170 species (mostly moths) to previously published lists.
