A stunning documentary shining a light on the traditional way of life for crofters in South Uist is being aired on BBC ALBA.
The three-part series, which started last night, November 28, looks at the relationship between the methods of crofting used in the area and the high levels of rare species of various animals – many of which are extinct elsewhere in the UK.
‘San Fhuil (It’s in the Blood) was made over a number of years by producer Beatrix A Wood in the township where her family croft is located, making the piece personal and filled with emotion.
