A FORT William man who had previously denied charges of possessing an unlicensed rifle and prohibited ammunition, changed his pleas to guilty this week.
Defence agent Hamish Melrose told Fort William Sheriff Court this week that his client, James Kennedy, of the town’s Achintore Road, was now pleading guilty that on November 2 last year, at Drumfada, Glen Loy, he had a.222 rifle and sound moderator in his possession without having a firearms certificate.
Kennedy, 72, further admitted possessing prohibited ammunition in the form of 22 apparently live.222 Remington cartridges of a type designed to expand on impact.
