MacLeod Construction Limited employs staff across a number of roles and trades, from senior management through to apprentices. MacLeod Construction Limited provides its employees with every possible opportunity to develop their careers within the company assuring continuity of the business in the long term. Its Modern Apprenticeship Scheme is operated in conjunction with Construction Skills, part of the Construction Industry Training Board and the Scottish Building Apprenticeship Training Council and it currently has 20 trainees, making up approximately 10% of its permanent workforce.
MacLeod Construction Limited provides modern apprenticeships through colleges such as Argyll College, West College Scotland, South Lanarkshire College and the National Construction College. MacLeod Construction Limited also works closely with the schools of Argyll to provide career options in construction to interested pupils. The company also attends career fairs to help guide anyone interested in a modern apprenticeship in construction. On many sites Modern Apprentices work alongside time-served tradesmen who have also passed through the company’s apprenticeship scheme thus allowing a high standard workforce to remain within the local community.
The company offers apprenticeships in; joinery, bricklaying, plumbing, electrical, scaffolding, roofing, mechanical and transport, roughcasting and quantity surveying. Having over the years successfully employed many apprentices whom have sustained long-term employment and promotion within MacLeod Construction Limited or have gone on to form their own businesses.
