Patchwork and Quilting  |  Apr-20
As we welcome spring, Margaret Lee’s delightful Spring Garden Cushion features some floral appliqué (I really must try playing with tweed sometime, the colours are wonderful). We look forward to summer with Janet Goddard’s Bee-utiful Quilt as well as the Sail Away Cushions from Makower and Julie Alderson’s wonderful appliqué picture, By the Sea. The Mystical Land Quilt is a lovely throw-sized quilt and the Scrappy Cot Quilt will help you make a dent in your scrap pile. Les Sirenes sur la Mer is an introduction to art quilt techniques from new contributor, Janika Hagan. Stuart’s block this month in Stashbusting is a quick strip pieced block. We sent Joanna O’Neill up to Scotland to review Sheila Dalgleish’s latest exhibition, North South East West while Deborah Nash enjoyed a visit to the seaside when she went to see the We Will Walk exhibition in Margate featuring quilts from Gee’s Bend.
Inspiration a plenty in both reviews. Alicia Merrett shows us her First and Last quilts and we meet Malpas Fabric Arts Group in Introducing.
