Patchwork and Quilting  |  July 2013
We have some summery projects for you in this packed issue. Our delightful Summer Placemats are so quick and easy to make and will brighten up any barbeque, assuming we get barbeque weather! Part 2 of the Seaside Sampler revisits memories of the seaside with some delicious ice cream cones. If you haven’t worked with silk before, the Textured Evening Bag is a great project to take that first step. The end is in sight with our block of the month quilt, Hand Quilting for All, as Jacquie introduces us to quilting over appliqué, a technique that changed the way she made her award winning quilts.
There’s a review of Quilts UK, which of course celebrated 25 years. We also have a preview of a show by Zero3, a textile group where they have used inspiration from the venue for their exhibition. We Meet Helen Conway and take another trip to India to discover Banjara Bags. And if you’ve ever doubted the commitment of those working in our craft, the story of making a remarkable Kindrogan Wallhanging sees the final steps taken through the snow.
