Patchwork and Quilting  |  July 2016
We have a nice variety of projects to inspire you again in this issue. The Circles Quilt combines curved piecing and appliqué, using fabrics from a collection called Wove it or Weave
it. This is a regular cotton fabric, yet it looks like it has a wonderfully textured soft feel to it. Talking of soft, Summer Soft is a lovely quick summery quilt for you to piece. As the school holidays loom on the horizon the Summer Treats beach bag is a must-make item for trips to the seaside. Cottage Garden will bring memories of your garden long after the nights have drawn in, while the Clamshell Cushion introduces us to this traditional patchwork template. We report from Quilts UK, one of the longest running shows in the UK and a firm favourite on the quilting calendar with its friendly atmosphere and amazing backdrop of the Malvern Hills, plus we have a feature on the Brooklyn Quilters’ Guild show that we were lucky enough to visit on the P&Q Tours trip to New York.
