Patchwork and Quilting  |  June 2019
"This month we bring you a new block of the month quilt, Down on the Croft, which takes a whimsical look at rural life and combines various techniques making it a good learning project. Everyone has a basket somewhere that they keep their sewing in, so why not make a Sewing Basket to brighten it? Margaret Lee brings us a delightful tweed quilt, Sinead’s Quilt which is an excellent project to start with if you have never worked with tweed before. Another quick pieced quilt, the Cosy Burgundy Quilt, is fat quarter friendly. The Floral Wall Hanging is a stunning appliqué quilt and we make another curved EPP block in our Stars and Flowers series quilt. Stuart’s block in Stashbusting is called Woven and would make a stunning scrappy quilt.
Your reading material this month includes my review of the Quilt and Stitch Village Show in Uttoxeter just before Easter. It was a lovely day out as usual. We visit The Quilters’ Cupboard in Let’s Go Shopping and find out more about the Magna Carta Quilts that were on display recently. We also find out more about Ledra Quilts in India. Sandra Goldsbrough tells us about her First and Last quilts and we meet Bath Quilters in Introducing."
