There is something incredibly rewarding about seeing your piece of block-printed fabric made up into a cushion or pillowcase. They make a fantastically generous present for someone special, or allow you to add a real piece of homespun charm to your own home. This particular project also shows you how to layer up colours.
It’s possible to buy plain cushion covers that you can print on. Alternatively, it’s simple to make a square cushion cover once your printed fabric is dry and the paint is set. You can print onto a length of fabric before cutting out your cushion cover, but remember to leave a healthy allowance on all sides for the seams. Alternatively, you can print directly onto your prepared cushion pieces.
