THE reign of costly cost-cutter Jim Mullen may be over at Reach plc, but little has changed in the way the company is run.
Less than three months after it was announced he would be “stepping up” as editor of the Daily Star and Daily Star Sunday after his boss Jon Clark was given the boot (Eye 1642), Denis Mann was last week told his his services were no longer required either. The titles are now “focusing particularly on digital platforms” rather than the paper product that continues to bring in the vast majority of income, and whose front pages have given them such a high profile in recent years.
