Fragile (Super Deluxe Edition) RHINO
With a new keyboard player and each bandmember contributing a solo track, Yes’s fourth album, 1971’s Fragile, could have been a real mish-mash. But those short, imaginative pieces fit together and serve as effective links. After Roundabout– Yes in excelsis and the single most brilliant amalgam of pop melody and 70s prog exploration –Rick Wakeman’s contribution, Cans And Brahms, 90 seconds of Brahms played on various keyboards, is a pretty, if inconsequential confection. It was chosen because he was still under contract to a different publisher, which is also why he has no writing credits on the album.
