Discovering
White Willow
White Willow emerged from Asker, Norway in 1992 and were founded by guitarist Jacob Holm-Lupo. They went on to become a leading force in the 1990s progressive rock revival alongside Scandinavian bands Änglagård (whose drummer Mattias Olsson is a current member of White Willow) and Anekdoten. Their debut, Ignis Fatuus, arrived in 1995 via The Laser’s Edge and established a distinctive sound that blends 1970s progressive rock, folk-rock, orchestral pop and electronic elements. Their semicommercial breakthrough came with 2004’s Storm Season, which added a harder edge to their music.
