Singing! I am singing. I hate singing. I was never good at it. And I am banging a drum, deliberately out of beat, a rebellion against the circumstances in which I find myself. To make matters worse, it is a stupid song: ‘I am the music man, I come from down your way and I can play… What can you play? I play the piano. Pia-pia-pia-no, pia-no, pia-no…’ 14 adults sit in a circle chanting. Jeez.
I didn’t know what to expect from a tantra workshop when I first set out, but it wasn’t this. I’m at ‘Innocence’, the third in a series of mixed-sex workshops. The idea is that to fully embrace our sexual energy without judgement and learn about tantra, we need to revisit our innocence so, here we are, embracing our inner child in order to do that.
