Carnival Elation is one of seven Carnival Cruise Line ships, from the same class, to go for breaking.

As the Covid rules are eased and cruise travel returns to normal, the time has come to reflect on the effect of the pandemic on the world’s largest cruise group, Carnival Corporation & plc. Across the nine brands within the group a total of 23 ships have been shed (one more still to go), with just Seabourn escaping unscathed.
Aida Cruises has lost AIDAcara, its first ever ship (sold to Russian interests as Astoria Grande and yet to enter service), AIDAvita (sold to an unnamed buyer) and AIDAmira (due to enter service for Ambassador Cruise Line next year).
Carnival Cruise Line has sent five ships for scrap, with a sixth being scrapped by a subsequent buyer. Carnival Elation, Fantasy, Fascination, Imagination, Inspiration and Sensation have gone. Another of this class, Carnival Ecstasy, will be taken out of service in the autumn, leaving just Carnival Paradise from the eight-ship series.
