HONOR MAGIC V3
Next big thin
Honor has finally brought its slimline Magic V3 to the UK… and it’s as slick as it is pocketable. Enough to make this a tipping point for folding phones?

Foldable phones have only really been around for five years, but they’ve come a long way in that time, and the Honor Magic V3 is the perfect example of that progress. At just 9.2mm thick when shut, this is the thinnest foldable available –that’s less than a millimetre thicker than an iPhone 16 Pro, and a full 2.5mm thinner than the OnePlus Open. At 226g, it’s lighter than the OnePlus too.
Improvements have also been made in durability. Honor says the material used for the frame is twice as strong as steel, there’s an improved water-resistance rating of IPX8, and a NanoCrystal Shield is there to stop the 6.43in outer screen getting scratched. Whereas early foldables felt fragile, there’s none of that here: it feels almost as rugged as any hinge-less phone.
